Dr. Yelena Tzeitlin Appointed Director of Surgical Suite and Anesthesia Department

The management of Schneider Children's has announced a new appointment at the hospital: Dr. Yelena Tzeitlin is the new Director of the Surgical Suite and the Anesthesia Department. Dr. Tzeitlin replaces Dr. Yaacov Katz who established the department and spearheaded the pediatric anesthesia domain in Israel. Dr. Katz recently retired following almost 30 years at the hospital.

Dr. Tzeitlin, 54, is a resident of Gan Yavne, married and a mother of two daughters. She is an anesthetist having graduated from the Pediatric Medical Faculty at the State Institute of Medicine in Baku, Azerbaijan where she was born. She served as the deputy director of the Anesthesia Department for the past 6 years. Prior to that, she specialized in anesthesiology at Kaplan Hospital.

Dr. Tzeitlin said that "pediatric anesthesia is an important and challenging field that demands patience, gentleness, responsibility and a different kind of skill. I am pround to accept the management of a superb Anesthesia Department that comprises the finest specialists there are. All of us were trained by Dr. Katz, the mythological anesthetist and head of the department at Schneider, who was known for his very unique approach. From my standpoint, it is a great privilege and honor for me to follow his footsteps and continue the highest quality of care to our patients."
