2020 Outstanding Employees

The prize for Outstanding Employees for 2020 at Schneider Children's was presented recently to 4 members in tribute to their diligence and initiative displayed throughout the past year. The ceremony was organized by the Human Resources Department.

The winner of the CEO of Clalit's Prize for 2020 was Dr. Meirav Mor, Head of the Infectious Diseases Prevention Unit and a senior physician in the Emergency Medicine Department. Dr. Mor, a resident of Petach Tikvah and the mother of 12-year-old Shai, graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is a member of the Israel Society for Infectious Diseases and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Group. She began her residency in Pediatrics at Beilinson Hospital and moved over to Schneider Children's when it opened in 1991. As part of her studies in infectious diseases, she spent three months interning at hospitals and the Pasteur Institute in Paris. With the completion of her specialization, she began to work as a senior physician in the Emergency Medicine Department at Schneider, and has served for the past 10 years as Head of the Infectious Diseases Prevention Unit in the hospital.

At the beginning of 2020, Schneider Children's was graded as an outstanding hospital in the prevention of infections. The model was measured and graded according to the hospital's accomplishments in the sphere of prevention of acquired infections in the hospital, sustainability in required minimization standards, and coping and containment of infections caused by bacteria resistant to antibiotics. During the year of the coronavirus, Dr. Mor, together with her staff, worked hard to advance awareness including explanations to medical teams, nursing staff, paramedical professionals, and other employees as well as parents of hospitalized children how with simple acts of hygiene, the contagion could be curtailed.

In addition, the Hospital Director's Prize was awarded to Inbal Kalavres, Webmaster and Graphic Designer for the Spokesperson and Marketing Department, David Yitzhaki, Director of Laundry Storage in the Logistics Department, and to Adi Malachi, Clinical Nurse Instructor in the Emergency Medicine Department. The Team Prize was awarded to the Infection Prevention Unit and Infectious Diseases Unit, and a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to the team in the Medical Equipment Storage in the Logistics Department.

Dr. Mor expressed her gratitude upon receiving the prize and spoke on behalf of all the outstanding employees. "During the past year, we were faced with many professional challenges in dealing with the coronavirus crisis. Alongside the provision of continued medical care in preventing infections, we were given the additional responsibility for stipulating regulations to prevent exposure to the virus to staff, patients and their families, conducting numerous epidemiological investigations and providing a response to every question at every moment regarding corona. I am proud to work at a place which sees its employees and knows how to pay tribute to their efforts and activities. For me, Schneider is home.

Dr. Efrat Bron-Harlev, Director of Schneider Children's, stated that "the challenging year of corona, which demanded the very best of every team, made the choice of outstanding employees very difficult. After a complex process of evaluation, several candidates stood a head above the many others in contributing to excellence towards the entire hospital during the past year. I am proud to present these prizes to these deserving individuals."
