The management of Schneider Children's announced the appointment of Dr. Oded Scheuerman as the new Director of Pediatrics "B". He replaces Prof. Dan Landau, who has moved to head of the Institute of Nephrology at Schneider Children's.
Dr. Scheuerman, married and the father of 4, graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He completed his specialization both in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases with honors at Schneider Children's. The recipient of many prestigious prizes, Dr. Scheuerman has been awarded the Medical Faculty's Dean's Prize, the Knesset Award for Outstanding Students, the Dr. Avinoam Rachmel Prize for Outstanding Physician and Lecturer and Tel Aviv University Lecturer's Award for Excellence.
A specialist in infectious diseases, Dr. Scheuerman serves as the Chairman of the Residents' Forum and Chair of the Pediatrics Division at Schneider Children's. Additionally, he is a senior clinical lecturer in Pediatrics at Tel Aviv University, a member of the National Committee for Pediatric Medicine examinations and chairs the Syllabus Committee for Pediatrics at Tel Aviv University.
Pediatrics "B" treats children with a range of medical disorders who are hospitalized from all over the country. The medical team in the department has garnered high skills in treating those with immunosuppressed disorders, allergies, infectious diseases and chronically ill children with complex conditions. Children awaiting adult cell or bone marrow transplants are also hospitalized in the department.
Prof. Joseph Press, Director of Schneider Children's, stated that, "The hospital management and I congratulate Dr. Scheuerman upon his appointment as head of the Pediatrics "B" Department. I am sure that his broad experience and skill gained over many years, and his personality, will add towards his success in his new position. At the same time, we thank Prof. Daniel Landau for his service as head of the department, and we wish him continued achievement in his new role as Director of the Institute of Nephrology at Schneider."
