Clinical and Academic Interests
Dr. Beigelman, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, is the director of the Kipper Institute of Allergy and Immunology at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel.
Dr. Beigelman received his medical degree, and completed Pediatrics residency training at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel. Subsequently, he relocated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he completed Allergy and Immunology Fellowship training. In 2009, he joined the faculty of the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonary Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine and served as an attending physician at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Beigelman’s main clinical and research interests include childhood asthma and food allergy. He investigates the contribution of early life infections to the inception of childhood asthma, the prevention of childhood asthma, and the management of asthma among children. He is the leading investigator of the APW-RSV II clinical trial: NIH supported II clinical trial aiming to prevent asthma following RSV Bronchiolitis (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02911935).
Dr. Beigelman has been an investigator and a steering committee member of multiple NIH supported research networks investigating therapeutic approaches to childhood asthma including the NHLBI's AsthmaNet, and the NIAID Inner City Asthma Consortium (ICAC). He is a member of several organizations including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and the Israeli Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He served as the chair of the Infectious and Asthma Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
In 2018, Dr. Beigelman joined Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel as the Director of the Kipper Institute of Allergy and Immunology.
