Kululam at Schneider

Members of the popular Kululam sensation visited the hospital to conduct a mass singalong for staff, hospitalized children and their families. Together, the participants sang the song “Or Gadol” (lit. big light), both in Hebrew and in Arabic.

Kululam is a social music initiative created where men and women from all sectors of Israeli society meet through music. Members of Kululam believe that music is a social medium for everyone. Music crosses all borders and differences, and touches every person. Therefore they chose music as a means to carry messages of knowing and accepting others.

There was much excitement when Kululam went up to sing together with hospitalized children in the Oncology Department who were unable to participate in the mass singalong that took place in the hospital’s lobby. The uniqueness of the event, the excitement of children and their families, alongside the sense of togetherness left few dry eyes in the audience.

Prof. Joseph Press, Director of Schneider Children’s noted that “the hospital’s vision and mission represents a ‘bridge to peace’, where children come from all over the country and from all sectors, and are treated irrespective of religion or nationality. The simultaneous singing of medical teams and patients reflect the sounds of Schneider, and are the proper way to realize this fundamental value. The impressive event has allowed us, even just for a short time, to stop everything and simply sing together.”
