Schneider Children’s and Clalit Smile announced a new joint initiative to promote oral hygiene among hospitalized children by distributing packs containing a toothbrush and toothpaste to children and parents, together with a colorful leaflet explaining how to maintain good oral hygiene. The campaign helps parents as well, who are often unprepared for their child’s hospitalization.
A child’s hospitalization is frequently unplanned or unexpected. One of the things that can promote a sense of well-being is the knowledge that both child and parent can refresh themselves a bit by brushing their teeth after a long wait in the emergency room. With this in mind, Schneider Children’s and Clalit Smile jointly introduced the distribution of oral hygiene packs to hospitalized children as part of the effort to improve the child’s hospitalization experience. The packs are distributed to inpatient departments by the receiving nurse in the ward. According to Irit Bibi, Director of Services and Marketing at Schneider Children’s, “We constantly have the hospitalized child and his needs in mind at Schneider Children’s. Brushing teeth is one of the topics that was raised by parents, focus groups and in ordinary conversation. We are pleased to hear positive responses from parents and are happy to see the child so excited with his gift.” |
